Perennial and Hardy Salvia

Perennial Salvias belong to the Sage family.  They are related to the culinary types but are far more ornamental in their manner.  There are two distinct types, the herbaceous forms and those which are more woody.  They are all very attractive to a range of pollinators particular bees and the occasional Hummingbird Hawkmoth.  Most are hardier than you think!

'The most noteworthy things about gardeners is that they are always optimistic, always enterprising and never satisfied.  They always look forward to doing something better than they have ever done before.'  Vita Sackville-West
